Data communications cable in air return plenum spaces in the United States and Canada are required by National Codes to have very low flammability and emit very low amounts of smoke when burned. Because of the high data rate demands of these circuits, the wire insulation material must also possess superior dielectric properties. FEP is the preferred choice as a wire insulation for “plenum rated” data communication cable applications because it best meets the needed performance criteria.
